National Police Week Special Event – K3FBI – 0000z May 15 through 2359z May 21
National Police Week offers honor, remembrance, and peer support, while allowing law enforcement, survivors, and citizens to gather and pay homage to those who gave their lives in the line of duty.
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world converge on Washington, DC to participate in a number of planned events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice. National Police Week 2022 in United States will begin on Sunday, May 15 and ends on Saturday, May 21

K3FBI – The FBI AMATEUR RADIO ASSOC (FBIARA) was formed Circa. 1991 from a group of amateur radio operators who were FBI employees and would get together on the air. This became known as the “BuNet”. K3FBI became the club call in the fall of 1998, just in time to be an official part of the FBI’s 90th anniversary.

– Jask was one of the founding hams involved with the amateur radio station on the Requin
As for Skyview:
– Jack was a past Skyview president and was on the Skyview board
– QSL manager for Skyview. Over the years jack has sent out literally thousands of QSL cards for K3MJW, WX3SKY, W3GH, K2M 13 Colonies and MUCH more
– Jack was an elmer for many new hams at the clubhouse

W8AOK Alan Bruce Cressler
Some of you knew Bruce Cressler – W8AOK. He helped me built the 2nd edition of the SCARC website 20 years ago. He was made am honorary remote member for his efforts. Over the past year he battled health issues and recently ended up on the wrong side of the fight. He went SK a few months back. I was asked to speak at his memorial service this past weekend and felt very privileged to do so. Some of you met him when he’d come to town for a visit otherwise he spent time in Detroit and eventually from a 2500 foot hilltop in Helvetia, WV. Been there? I didn’t think so. The town’s population at last census was 59…FIFTY NINE..059. After his diagnosis he decided to get his Extra class. Who does this with an unknown amount of time left on this blue planet? He did. Education was his goal in life. He spent many a night on that mountain top collecting QSL cards from far off places and loved every minute of it. At his memorial I ended my tribute with DI DI DI DAH DI DAH.
