First-Time Exam Applicants Must Obtain FCC Registration Number Before Taking Exam Beginning May 20, 2021, all amateur examination applicants will be required to provide an FCC Registration Number (FRN) to the Volunteer Examiners (VEs) before taking an amateur exam. This is necessary due to changes the FCC has made to its licensing system.  Register Here:

To make sure we have enough testing materials on hand, and that you don’t have to wait for us to get ready we are highly recommending that people interested taking the exam preregister.

To take your Amateur Radio License the VEC will charge you $15 payable by check or money order. For new license the FCC will charge you a fee of $35 for a 10 year long license. Which is paid directly to the FCC via there website.  They will email you the payment link via your email. STUDENTS: Under the age of 18 the VEC examine fee is only $5 and the ARRL will reimburse you the $35 fee. UPGRADES: The is no $35 FCC license fee to upgrade your license.

Got question? Feel free to email and to register?
