ATV – Bring It Back?

UPDATE! – We are planning an meeting open to all ham operators interested in ATV we will be announcing the date soon.

As talked about at the Oct. business meeting:
Karl, WA3VXJ is interested in bring back ATV {Amateur Television} as a beacon for now. Steel City ARC had an ATV repeater set up on 426 Mhz. But now an then we get request about what happen to the ATV repeater. As you know television has change a lot, there is no more commercial analog TV transmitters any more. Everything has gone digital now, so if we set up ATV beacon what should we use for the Beacon? Good old fashion NTSC analog? digital? and if we do digital which format the American ATSC format or the European DVB format? If your interested in bring back ATV let Karl know. – Comments?
