Steel City HF Antenna Patch Panel
Patch Panel Instructions
Below is an instruction sheet how to connect any radio to any antenna. The top two rows are the antenna’s and the bottom two rows are the radios. Each position on the tables are marked Pos #1, Pos #2, Pos #3….. Where ever the radio is located is the position jack you use on the patch panel. For example The Icom Pro 756 is located at Pos #2 there is no radio on Pos #1 so using the patch panel you would hook the antenna to the radio Pos #2.
Now for positions 1-5 there are two rows on jacks. Most HF radio have a button to select between ANTENNA 1 or ANTENNA 2. The top row jacks goto the ANTENNA 1 jack on the radio, and the second row of jack goto ANTENNA 2 on the back of the radios. So for example if you have to Mosley hooked to the top jack and the HyTower hooked to the bottom jack then when you want to talk on the Mosley you would push ANTENNA 1 on the radio, and ANTENNA 2 for the HyTower.
For radio positions 6, 7, 8 there is only one antenna coax running to those radios. Please leave these radios on ANTENNA 1 on the front panel of the radios.

Safety Message – Protect Our Radios
Once you get everything hooked up please always listen before you transmit! If you are not hearing anything double check your hook ups.
When Done
Please leave panel hooked up this way
Remember local users ALWAY get to use what ever radio and antenna they want to use. So go right ahead and change the panel they way you want to use it. The technical committee is kindly asking you when your done operating please return the patch panel to what is show below.
Since we have remote stations, if they are left unhook or hooked up a different way the remote will not work correctly. This also means that someone from the technical committee has to drive up the hill to return the patch panel back to the positions shown below. Go ahead and hook what ever you want just return the panel to these settings.
