I would like to thank everyone that came out to the club last night for the Breezeshooter’s groundwave contest. It was a nice event with a number of club members coming up to visit and operate, even one of our DX member’s from out of state. Good seeing you Jacob.
Many thanks to Karl for making it a great event. He brought out some great old time equipment to use; the Kenwood TS-520 with a lollipop microphone and it was a hit. The radio was quite active with contacts and the reports of the signal were it sounded great to everyone. Karl was also chief cook last night of some great pizza. Many thanks for making this a fun event Karl. Also on that note thanks to KA3JKS (Sue), you made a lot of contacts and did a great job keeping track of things.
The contest was not as busy as it has been in the past years. We made 31 QSO’s with a score of 56 points. Not bad for a fun little event. Please remember that the digital portion is this weekend March 15, 2025 from 20:00-23:00. I hope that we have some folks that would like to come up and operate to finish out the last portion of this contest.

Take a bite of pizza then work a 10m contact – Can it get any better?
MEMBERS: This Saturday March 8th at 8:00 PM Steel City is going to take over the 10 meter band and work all the operators of the Breezeshooter 10m Ground Wave Contest. Come on up to the club house and join in on the fun of a very fun contest. Pizza, Pop, Snacks will all be served to all operators.
