At the April Business meeting we got the go to starting signing up “Activator’s” for the National Special Event Station – Lewis & Clark Trails On The Air.  This is our fourth year that we have been doing LCTOTA event, and it has turn out to be a fun club event.  It also puts Steel City in the national spot light as operators around the country seek out the W3KWH station to get credit for working Pennsylvania. 
So what is an “Activator”?  An activator is an member of W3KWH that will be calling out “CQ CQ Lewis & Clark On The Air”  and logging their contacts to the LCTOTA website so these contacts get their “Work PA” credit.   By signing up as a “Activator” you will be able to operate from the club house, your own home, or a POTA location.  We will be doing some training before the event starts in late May.

If you sign up last night at the meeting.. You should have received your invite this morning. If you have not received it yet please email me.  If you have Microsoft Email…  Outlook, MSN, Hotmail please check your junk mail folder since Microsoft junk everything.
Modes of Operation.. LCTOTA will be using VOICE, CW, and Digital Modes.  You will be able to use your own logging program and upload the ADIF files directly to the LCTOTA website.  Or they have a directly log contacts via any web browser.  Users of FT-8 will be able to upload their log file from the WSJT software.   We will need some CW operators so all our new CW users can use this as practice for the next big event the ARRL Field Day. 
Fun Events…  Steel City will start the event with operation from the club house on Saturday May 31st.  Members and guest will be able to come to the club house and operate as W3KWH we will turn this into an fun event and even plan to have some food for all that operate.  During this “Fun Event” the club house will have reserve  all band for the club house operators.

Breezeshooters Hamfest…  Once again we will operate LCTOTA from the Breezeshooters hamfest.  We will operate on the HF bands and VHF 2m band.  People will be able to check in while they are at the hamfest.
