The 13 Colonies have started today this is one of the most fun events of the year, and for a change Steel City doesn’t have to do anything with the event except to have some fun!
So here how to work the 13 Colonies while getting credit for yourself and the club. We will use W3KWH for all club contacts. Make sure you goto and print out the log sheet link below. That will let you track your own contacts so you can get some nice wallpaper for your shack.
This is how you can handle the exchange so both you and the club can get credit…
EXAMPLE FROM YOUR HOME:
- Give (Your Call) to get their attention
- SAY “K2M this is (Your Call) your 59 into PA can you please also enter W3KWH”
EXAMPLE FROM THE CLUB:
- Give W3KWH to get their attention
- SAY “K2M this is W3KWH your 59 into PA can you please also enter (Your Call)”
For CW:
I guess you will have to call them twice once for your own call and 2nd time for W3KWH
For Digital from the club:
You will have to use W3KWH as the call sign.
For Digital From Home:
You will have to first work them as (Your Call) then change the callsign in the program to W3KWH and work them again.
Most of the will be very happy to take both calls since they credit two contact from one person. If by chance they don’t just call them again with the 2nd callsign.
Ok I worked a contact how do I report the W3KWH contact?
Once you made a contact with one of the 13 colonies send an email to the link below and make a report.. Which “State Callsign” and the “time and date” and what “mode” you used.. The first person the reports a contact will get there name in the chart below. Let see if we can get clean sweeps on Phone, CW, and Digital!
