UPDATED INFORMATION – PLEASE READ

Members please consider helping the club out by requesting to becoming an activator for the National Special Event – Lewis & Clark On The Air.  Here is your chance to make contacts from around the country as they try to find the Pennsylvania station as they track down the 16 states along the Lewis & Clark trail.

UPDATE – Do to our success with past years we have been ask by the organizers to help out our neighboring state.  They have had no luck a getting a large club to work the event.  So Steel City has been ask to help fill in as the second station and help ham radio operators find a West Virginia activator.

HOW WILL IT WORK – To work as a West Virginia station you must be willing to travel into West Virginia we are lucky in that the pan handle is so close.  If you have a Go Box setup or a friend/family in West Virginia travel into that state and make your contacts.  We will be using N3LL for the West Virginia Station and W3KWH for the Pennsylvania contacts.  We are listed as two separate clubs on the LCTOTA website.  So you will need to sign up for WVa just like you did for the PA activators listing.

THIS WILL BE FUN – West Virginia has always been the hardest state to get working the LCTOTA.  So if you travel to WVa and set up a station you will be guarantee to make a lot of contacts.  So when you scheuled an operating time in WVa there will be hunter waiting for you to get on the air.  I will be asking the club to setup a special event/POTA event for the club at a location within WVa.
